Nasty Catchers By Cindy Pepper
I learned how to make nasty catchers from a cyber-friend, a Wiccan witch of 20+ years. I was looking for a way to keep our creepy landlord (who only lived two doors away) from coming over and hassling us every
day.
Start with a whole head of garlic, which has been associated with protection from ancient times. Stud the garlic with as many pins, nails, screws, etc., as you like.
These sharp objects will impale the negativity/evil/icky stuff. Then, take thread (I like to use two or three different colors) and weave it around and around and around the garlic, using as much as you like. The string will trap the negativity.
Finally, decorate the nasty catcher with little pretties - I always have odds and ends of old costume jewelry lying around, but you can also use little bows, beads, whatever - the pretties will help transform the
negative energy into positive energy before releasing it back into the universe. While you're working on them, it helps to visualize your home in a sphere of bright white light, invisible to people you don't want
around, safe and secure from any harm or evil. I also like to do a binding on them after they're finished.
To hang them, I lay two pieces of string out in an X, set the nasty catcher on the center of the X, and then pull the four string ends up to form a little basket. I have them hanging over all my doorways, but you
can put them anywhere you feel you need extra protection.
Kids love making these - and they work! Creepy landlord came two more time but was obviously extremely uncomfortable - stood on the porch, wouldn't come in! And then never bothered us again.
