The Eyes
By Nicki Torr

Eyes followed him around the room.
Eyes from a forgotten past.
Would he look... Would he notice...
The intensity of this mind's gaze.
Long since separated.
The memories often faded
from days long gone.
Stranger of old.
Strangers of new.
Would he walk out of the room
Leaving the eyes a hollow ache.
Lovers not of old.
Lovers not of new.
The eyes did love the you they knew.
Love a lot.
Hate a little.
One without the other is not true.
The eyes flashed of love.
Then of remembered hate.
Love prevailed.
We did part in love.
